Champions League Qualifiers 2025/26: Rangers vs Club Brugge Preview

Club Brugge face one last hurdle to reach the League Phase of this season’s Champions League.

After beating Red Bull Salzburg over two legs, Nicky Hayen’s side now have to get past Rangers in the play-offs.

It is a tie which is incredibly hard to call on paper, hence why tonight’s first leg in Glasgow is of vital importance.

Read on for a full sports betting online preview based on Rangers vs Club Brugge, complete with odds and tips for your midweek bets on football.

Rangers vs Club Brugge Preview

Club Brugge had to produce a dramatic comeback on home soil in order to reach this stage.

After a 1-0 win in Austria, the Jupiler Pro League outfit fell 2-0 behind at the Jan Breydel Stadium and looked on course to be eliminated.

But a stunning second-half turnaround saw Club Brugge eventually win 3-2 in front of their fans and set up a date with Rangers, who enjoyed a calmer passage to the play-offs.

Russell Martin’s side beat Viktoria Plzen 4-2 on aggregate following an impressive 3-0 first-leg win at Ibrox.

In Europe, Rangers have looked impressive this season, though they are yet to win a match in the Scottish Premiership, drawing their first two fixtures against Motherwell and Dundee.

Club Brugge are performing better domestically ahead of tonight’s first leg, with Hayen’s men claiming a crucial 1-0 win at Zulte Waregem on the weekend after beating local rivals Cercle Brugge 2-0 on Matchday 3 of the Pro League campaign.

But in the Ibrox cauldron, which famously gets even louder on big European nights, recent form may count for very little in Club Brugge’s case.

Rangers vs Club Brugge Betting Tips

Player to score or assist – Djeidi Gassama @ 2.75

Gassama has been a hit in the Champions League Qualifiers since joining Rangers from Sheffield Wednesday back in July. The French youth international has scored four goals in four matches in this season’s qualifiers, including a brace in the 3-0 home win over Viktoria Plzen. As such, his odds here look very attractive.

Player to score or assist – Christos Tzolis @ 2.00

Tzolis, who is being linked with a late move to Crystal Palace, is Club Brugge’s biggest threat up top and limiting his influence may prove a tall order for Rangers – even at Ibrox. The Greek winger has three goals and two assists across all competitions already this season, making him a great selection in this market.

Hans Vanaken to have over 0.5 shots on target @ 1.73

Attacking midfielder Vanaken always seems to stand tall in big games for Club Brugge. With three goals to his name in 2025-26 and a potential penalty taker, we are struggling to work out why his odds here are so good. But we are not complaining, as there is fantastic value to be had!
