Champions League: Matchday 1 Acca

Champions League football returns this week with a new format for the group stage.

Consisting of 36 teams in one single league, each team will play eight different opponents.

The top eight sides qualify for the knockout stage automatically, while those finishing from 9th to 24th enter a play-off round for the final eight spots in the last 16.

As before, the competition then reverts to two-legged knockout ties until the final, which will be held in Munich on May 31, 2025.

Ahead of Matchday 1, we have pulled together an acca that could return just over €360 from a €5 stake, with a 5% boost.

Before taking a look at our picks, do not forget that you can find a wide range of sports betting markets at Bet777.

Juventus to beat PSV Eindhoven – 1.78

Juventus will have to be at their very best to see off a PSV Eindhoven side boasting five wins from their first five Eredivisie games. But Juve are also unbeaten, with two wins and two draws from four Serie A outings, and home advantage could prove decisive.

AC Milan to beat Liverpool – 3.91

The San Siro is in for a treat as European giants AC Milan and Liverpool collide on Matchday 1. The hosts have not enjoyed the best of starts in the league but Saturday’s 4-0 win over Venezia will have raised spirits. Liverpool picked up three successive wins in the Premier League before being brought back down to earth by a 1-0 home defeat to Nottingham Forest.

Real Madrid to beat Stuttgart – 1.29

Real Madrid begin their defence of the trophy with what should be a routine victory over Stuttgart. Carlo Ancelotti’s men have picked three wins and two draws from their opening five La Liga games, whereas Stuttgart have collected just four points from three Bundesliga outings.

Manchester City to draw with Inter Milan – 4.40

This one may raise a few eyebrows considering Manchester City’s unbeaten start to the season but count out Inter Milan at your peril. Serie A champs Inter have bagged eight points from a possible 12 and will fancy their chances of causing City problems at the Etihad. With goal machine Erling Haaland likely to be on the scoresheet, do not be surprised to see the spoils shared in Manchester.

Barcelona to beat Monaco – 1.74

Although Monaco have made a good start in Ligue 1, registering 10 points from a possible 12, you simply cannot overlook free-scoring Barcelona. Hansi Flick’s side have netted 11 goals in their last two outings and sit top of La Liga on 15 points after winning their first five games of the season.
