But now, it is all about these tips…
*All odds are subject to change
Benfica vs Real Madrid: Kylian Mbappe to score 2+ goals @ 3.70
Mbappe and goals is one of European football’s biggest romances. The Real Madrid striker is the Champions League’s leading scorer (11 goals), and amazingly, he has netted two or more times in four of his six appearances in this season’s competition. Mbappe also bagged a brace against Villarreal on the weekend, taking his La Liga tally to 21 goals in 20 games. Benfica are a decent side and have a manager renowned for pragmatism in Jose Mourinho, but stopping Mbappe looks a near impossible task right now.
Juventus to beat AS Monaco @ 2.21
Luciano Spalletti’s Juve side will be full of confidence heading to Monaco. The Bianconeri beat Benfica 2-0 on Matchday 7, and followed that up with a huge 3-0 win over Napoli. Juve have now won four of the last five across all competitions, a run which includes huge victories over Sassuolo (0-3) and Cremonense (5-0). In stark contrast, Monaco have won just two of the last seven, and both those successes came in the French Cup. The Ligue 1 side lost 6-1 to Real Madrid last week, so the form book suggests a Juve win – which is certainly well priced – is firmly on the cards here.
Napoli vs Chelsea: Anytime goalscorer – Joao Pedro @ 3.20
As previously mentioned, Napoli enter this fixture on the back of a demoralising 3-0 loss to Juve, while Chelsea claimed a 3-1 win at Crystal Palace on the weekend. Pedro was on target in that match, having also scored in the recent 2-0 triumph over Brentford. The Brazilian has nine goals in all competitions this season, and he can inflict more misery on an injury-ravaged Napoli side who are desperately chasing a play-off spot – currently sitting 25th with just eight points. Pedro scored on his last visit to Italy as well, albeit in a 2-1 loss to Atalanta on Matchday 6.
PSV Eindhoven vs Bayern Munich: Total goals – Over 3.5 @ 1.79
This has all the makings of an exciting, goal-filled affair. Bayern are the joint-highest scorers with 20 goals, while PSV have netted 15 of their own – but also conceded 14. Over 3.5 goals were scored in three of PSV’s last six Champions League matches, and the bet would have landed in five of Bayern’s previous six European contests. With PSV in need of goals to preserve their play-off spot, and the visitors boasting the likes of Harry Kane, Luis Diaz and Michael Olise, an entertaining evening in Eindhoven beckons.
