Champions League 2025/26: Matchday 7 Betting Tips

The Champions League makes its triumphant return this week.

As always, excitement levels for the biggest club competition in world football are building nicely, with 18 amazing fixtures to look forward to over the next few days.

We will be previewing Club Brugge and Union Saint-Gilloise’s matches in separate blogs, but before that, here are some of our other sports betting picks for this week’s Champions League action – all based on the latest football odds.

Let’s begin…

*All odds are subject to change

Bodo/Glimt vs Manchester City: Erling Haaland to score 2+ goals @ 3.20

Man City talisman Haaland returns to Norway with something of a point to prove. The usually free-scoring striker has started 2026 in poor fashion, and was virtually anonymous in last Saturday’s 2-0 defeat at Man Utd. But a determined Haaland is something to be feared, and this is a competition he loves. He has six goals in six 2025-26 games, while his overall record reads 55 goals in 54 appearances. Bodo/Glimt have conceded at least two goals in five of their six Champions League games this season, so we are backing Haaland to add another brace to the collection.

Villarreal to beat Ajax @ 1.53

Both of these teams have had Champions League campaigns to forget. Villarreal have just one point from six games, while Ajax’s 4-2 win at Qarabag on Matchday 6 ended a run of five straight defeats. A place in the play-offs looks unlikely for either side, so it is only really pride to play for. And with Villarreal undoubtedly the superior outfit on paper, evidenced by the fact they sit third in La Liga, we are backing the Yellow Submarine to get the job done here. Ajax’s previous away match saw them lose 6-0 at AZ Alkmaar in the cup, with heavy defeats on the road also suffered in this competition to Marseille (4-0) and Chelsea (5-1).

Galatasaray vs Atletico Madrid: Anytime goalscorer – Leroy Sane @ 3.60

Sane is certainly a player in form ahead of this intriguing clash in Istanbul. The German winger has five goal contributions in his last five Super Lig matches, and it is safe to say that Atletico’s defensive powers in this competition have waned. Diego Simeone’s side are yet to keep a clean sheet in the Champions League after six matches, conceding nine goals in three away games. Tricky wingers in Mohamed Salah, Gabriel Martinelli and Ricardo Pepi have already inflicted damage on a travelling Atleti team, and Sane certainly possesses the quality and experience to follow suit.

Slavia Praha vs Barcelona: Total goals – Over 3.5 @ 1.89

Under the rule of Hansi Flick, Barcelona games are usually very entertaining affairs. And the pressure is on the Spanish side to deliver in this match, as they sit 15th in the table with only three wins from six. Slavia did draw 0-0 with Athletic Bilbao in their previous home game, but Barca’s attack is far superior, and an early goal would spell real danger for the hosts. We fancy a high-scoring affair in Prague, with Barca the most likely to emerge with three precious points.
