Champions League 2025/26 – Matchday 3 Betting Tips

The Champions League is back with a bang this week, with Matchday 3 of the League Phase getting underway tomorrow evening.

With 18 matches to look forward to in the space of just two days, it really is the stuff of dreams for football fans.

And to further fuel excitement levels, we have taken a look at all the fixtures to provide you with four online sports betting tips, to help you craft your latest round of Champions League football bets.

Let’s begin…

*All odds are subject to change

Villarreal vs Manchester City: Anytime goalscorer – Erling Haaland @ 1.73

At this moment in time, a Haaland goal in a game feels completely inevitable. The Norwegian colossus is a machine in the final third right now, adding two more goals to his ever-growing collection on the weekend to seal a 2-0 win over Everton. As well as shining on international duty, Haaland has 14 goals from just 10 appearances across all competitions this season – including three in two Champions League matches. While Villarreal are no pushovers, evidenced by a 2-2 draw with Juventus on Matchday 2, we just cannot see the La Liga side keeping Haaland quiet for 90 minutes.

Bayer Leverkusen vs Paris Saint-Germain: Over 3.5 goals @ 2.33

Both of these teams were involved in thrilling league matches over the weekend. Leverkusen won 4-3 at Mainz thanks to a brace from Alejandro Grimaldo, while reigning European champions PSG were held to a 3-3 draw by Strasbourg at the Parc des Princes. Luis Enrique’s side are struggling a bit of late, also drawing 1-1 with Lille before the international break. But in the Champions League, they are a different beast, and beat Barcelona 2-1 away from home on Matchday 2. With Ousmane Dembele and Desire Doue perhaps returning to the fold, we really fancy this to be a high-scoring game.

Sporting Lisbon vs Marseille: Anytime goalscorer – Mason Greenwood @ 2.60

Greenwood travels to Lisbon in the form of his life after scoring FOUR goals for Marseille in a 6-2 victory over Le Havre, which sent Roberto De Zerbi’s side to the top of Ligue 1. After a busy summer, with the odd bit of controversy thrown in for good measure, Marseille look like a team that means serious business in 2025-26, and Greenwood is the key to success. The Englishman scored in the 4-0 win over Ajax on Matchday 2, and should fancy his chances of tormenting a Sporting defence which is yet to keep a clean sheet in the Champions League this season. The Portuguese side were beaten 2-1 by Napoli last time out, while their previous league fixture saw them draw 1-1 with Braga at home.

AS Monaco vs Tottenham: Draw @ 3.60

We finish by tipping a draw, a selection which would have landed in Monaco’s last three matches. After drawing 2-2 with Manchester City, the Ligue 1 outfit also drew 2-2 with Nice and were then held to a 1-1 at Angers on the weekend. Sebastien Pocognoli is still searching for his first win as Monaco manager after leaving Union Saint-Gilloise, and he will be pleased to see that Spurs surrendered a 1-0 lead and lost 2-1 to Aston Villa on the weekend. But Spurs have also been fond of a draw of late, collecting three of them vs Brighton (2-2), Bodo/Glimt (2-2) and Wolves (1-1) in the previous six matches. So the form books suggest there could be great value in this selection!
