The scores are level as Barcelona prepare to host Newcastle at the iconic Camp Nou tomorrow evening.
A late, late Lamine Yamal penalty at St James’ Park salvaged a 1-1 draw for Barca in last week’s entertaining first leg.
The Spanish champions are now the favourites to reach the quarter-finals of the Champions League, though Newcastle are certainly not a team to be underestimated.
Eddie Howe’s men beat Chelsea 1-0 on the weekend, and should really have claimed the win in the first leg.
Below is our full Barcelona vs Newcastle preview, and we have picked out some online sports betting tips based on the latest Champions League odds.
Barcelona vs Newcastle Preview
Barcelona enjoyed a fantastic weekend, beating Sevilla 5-2 to stay top of the La Liga table.
Hansi Flick’s men have now won their last four home matches across all competitions, scoring 15 goals in the process.
That is a pretty ominous sign for Newcastle, though the Magpies will be buoyed by the aforementioned 1-0 victory at Stamford Bridge.
A first-half strike from Anthony Gordon – who also has 10 goals in this competition – was enough to secure three precious Premier League points.
And perhaps the biggest positive for Howe was the keeping of a clean sheet, something they had achieved only once in the previous 15 games.
Defensive solidity is sorely needed at Camp Nou for any visiting side, with Yamal, Raphinha, Robert Lewandowski, Ferran Torres and Fermin Lopez all available for selection.
But Newcastle have more than enough firepower to make this a difficult night for Barca.
Gordon, Anthony Elanga and Harvey Barnes – who opened the scoring the first leg – all have pace in abundance, and can look to capitalise on Flick’s high defensive line.
With the scores level at 1-1, this really does have the potential to be the week’s standout Champions League game!

Barcelona vs Newcastle Betting Tips
Anytime goalscorer – Raphinha @ 2.38
Fresh from a hat-trick against Sevilla, Raphinha will be looking to bolster his Champions League record for this season. The Brazilian has only one goal in the competition so far, which came in the previous home game vs FC Copenhagen. But Raphinha is on 17 goals from just 29 appearances overall in 2025-26, hence why we are backing him to deliver vs Newcastle – a team he scored two goals in four matches against during his Leeds days.
Bet Builder: Barcelona to win, both teams to score & Raphinha to score anytime @ 3.90
And if you are looking for a way to increase the odds on a goal-scoring Raphinha display, this Bet Builder looks a good route to go down. Barca’s home record is famously strong, but Newcastle have the attacking weapons to grab at least one goal. The BTTS selection has landed in 13 of the Magpies’ previous 14 games.
