Arsenal to Beat Sporting CP @ 2.18
Sporting don’t seem to be reeling too much after the loss of manager Ruben Amorim to Manchester United. Keeping up their 100% domestic record with ease, they’ll be ready to welcome Arsenal to the Jose Alvalade feeling very confident.
Star striker Victor Gyokeres is still in fine form and will be a problem Arsenal can’t ignore. Mikel Arteta’s side have come back strong after the international break with a convincing 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest, and at this crucial point in the year they’ll be keen to maintain their momentum. That’s why we give them the edge in this one.
Inter Milan vs RB Leipzig BTTS @ 1.73
What would in the past have been an absolutely fascinating tie between two genuine contenders for a deep run in the competition, looks now to be more of a foregone conclusion. Whilst immensely talented, it seems that Leipzig only have the resources to fight on one front, in this case the Bundesliga.
They are currently in an eight point deficit to Bayern facing a hard chase down, but in the new Champions League format they are 32nd, losing every game so far and not being eligible for progression. Conversely, Inter are chasing leaders Napoli, trailing by only a point, and are 5th in the Champions League. Inter’s dominant form means we don’t see this going any other way than a home win.
Bayern Munich vs PSG to end in a Draw @ 4.50
Both top of their respective domestic divisions, this really does look like a clash of the titans. These teams are not at their peak but are building into the season hoping to be a threat in the latter stages of the competition, maybe even securing a win that has been elusive to both sides in recent years. PSG are currently 25th in the table, sitting outside any qualification places, although it’s difficult to see them remaining there.
While Bayern will also be unhappy with their 17th placement at present, and will need to prove they have what it takes to win big games. The same can be said for PSG who are desperate to prove they’re still a force without Kylian Mbappe. Either way, it’s set to be a great game that we think will end in a draw.
Liverpool vs Real Madrid BTTS @ 1.50
Another mammoth clash set to take place this week is a repeat of the Champions League finals of 2018 and 2022. These two teams have formed a rivalry in recent years and will be keen to add another win to their personal tallies. New LIverpool manager Arne Slot has taken to life on Merseyside like a duck to water, and the Reds haven’t missed a step, playing dynamic football, deservedly holding an eight point gap at the top of the Premier League.
Real, on the other hand, are facing a chase of old enemies Barcelona, to whom they currently have a four point deficit. Liverpool are also top of the new Champions League table and will want to keep Real struggling in 18th. But this is Real’s competition and they won’t go down without a fight. We think this tough game will end with split points.
