Belgium vs Slovakia Euro 2024 Betting Tips, Predictions, Odds, Match Preview

Belgium begin their Euro 2024 campaign with a fixture against Slovakia and they will hope to get off to a positive start in a group they should qualify from with relative ease.

Ukraine and Romania make up the rest of Group E, with the Red Devils undeniably the strongest side of the four on paper.

But tournament football does not always follow the script and Belgium will be well aware of that fact as they gear up to face Slovakia.

Preview

With the so-called ‘Golden Generation’ now a thing of the past, Belgium go into this tournament under manager Domenico Tedesco full of hope and without the overwhelming pressure on their shoulders like in previous tournaments.

The Red Devils cruised through qualifying, winning six matches and drawing the other two to finish top of Group F. They scored 22 goals and conceded just four, highlighting their strength in all areas of the pitch.

With a strike force containing the likes of Romelu Lukaku, Leandro Trossard and Jeremy Doku, fed by the creative genius of Kevin De Bruyne, Belgium are certainly a team to watch out for at Euro 2024.

For Slovakia, their opener feels like a free hit, although an upset is certainly not impossible. In qualifying, they put up two good performances against Portugal, losing by only one goal both home and away.

And in centre-back Milan Skriniar and defensive midfielder Stanislav Lobotka, who represent Paris Saint-Germain and Napoli respectively, Slovakia possess two footballers who have experience playing against the very best.

Slovakia also go into the game off the back of an impressive 4-0 friendly win over Wales, so write them off at your own peril.

Belgium vs Slovakia Odds

*Odds are subject to change

Belgium are red-hot favourites to get the job done in their opener. Tedesco’s men are at 1.47 to claim victory, while Slovakia are a longshot at 6.80.

Belgium vs Slovakia Betting Tips

Rampant Rom

Lukaku is comfortably Belgium’s record scorer, amassing 85 goals in 115 games ahead of the Slovakia game. After a productive 2023-24 campaign on loan at Roma from Chelsea, the powerful striker could continue adding to his enormous tally. Lukaku to score anytime is 2.00, while he is 4.00 to score the game’s first goal.

Opening victory

If Lukaku scores, there’s a high chance Belgium will claim victory by a decent margin. As such, we like the look of a Bet Builder that combines all those factors. Belgium to beat Slovakia, over 2.5 goals scored in the match and Lukaku to be on the scoresheet is priced at 3.00.

Strong defence

As well as being potent in attack, Belgium’s defence is pretty strong. The Red Devils have kept clean sheets in five of their last six matches. Tedesco’s side to win to nil is 2.37.
