Brighton vs Chelsea
Kicking off our football predictions this week is Brighton vs Chelsea. The Blues continued their five-match unbeaten run in the league with a 1-1 draw against Manchester United last time out, conceding their first goal in 540 minutes late on at Stamford Bridge. They will look to get back to winning ways at the Amex on Saturday, as Graham Potter returns to his former stomping ground for the first time.
Brighton are yet to pick up a win under new manager Roberto De Zerbi, drawing twice and losing three of their first five games under the Italian. Things don’t get any easier as they prepare to host a Chelsea side with the second best away record in the top-flight. The Seagulls have never won a Premier League game against Chelsea – we don’t expect that to change this weekend.

Strasbourg vs Marseille
Three defeats in a row have seen Marseille sink to fifth place, but they remain just four points off the top three. We’re backing them to pick up three points in our football predictions, as they travel away to face a Strasbourg team that have won just once this campaign. The hosts have accumulated just three points in six home matches thus far – only two teams have managed fewer – with three defeats and three draws.
Marseille’s previous two outings have been against frontrunners PSG and Lens, so morale won’t have been damaged too much. They have a squad among the strongest in the league and should be looking to pick up another victory on the road on matchday 13.

Empoli vs Atalanta
Atalanta suffered their first defeat of the season last time out against a very strong Lazio side. They will be looking to climb back towards the top of Serie A this week when they face Empoli at Stadio Carlo Castellani. Empoli have only won two games this season, a huge contrast to Atalanta who are unbeaten away from home.
The visitors still boast the second best defensive record in the league and our football prediction is a win and clean sheet against one of the least prolific attacks in Italy.

Schalke vs Freiburg
Our final football prediction for this weekend comes from the Bundesliga where third place Freiburg face bottom of the table Schalke. The hosts have lost five consecutive games in all competitions, conceding 17 in the process, with relegation looking increasingly likely.
Freiburg have only been beaten by Dortmund and Bayern thus far and they sit just two points adrift of league leaders Union Berlin. We’re backing the away side to hand Schalke a sixth defeat on the bounce.
