Football Predictions – Jupiler Pro League Matchday 25

With around 10 games left in the regular season campaign, we are approaching the business end of the Jupiler Pro League. The likes of Antwerp, Club Brugge and Anderlecht will all have their sights set on hunting down the league leaders St. Gilloise, whilst Seraing and Beerschot will be frantically searching for a way out of the bottom two.

Both teams to score accumulators are providing as much value as ever in Belgian football, with 7 out of 9 games seeing both sides find the net on matchday 23. You can keep up to date with live betting and football odds at Bet777.be.

We’ve previewed the upcoming round of fixtures and provided our football predictions for the Pro League this weekend. Place your selections at Bet777.be – the best place for online bets on Belgian football.

St. Truiden vs Charleroi

St. Truiden have started to turn things around in recent weeks. After five consecutive defeats they looked destined for a relegation battle, but just one loss in their last four has seen them rise up the table. The hosts have found scoring goals a consistent problem, but the signing of Japanese playmaker Shinji Kagawa should provide some extra quality in the final third.

Charleroi have had no such problems in front of goal this season, until the recent sale of top goalscorer Shamar Nicholson. Since the Jamaican’s departure, the visitors haven’t won a game and have managed to find the net just once in four games. The away side typically perform better on the road, but without their talisman, they are a much weaker side.

Draw @ 3.05

Beerschot VA vs Waregem

Anything other than a win for Beerschot at this stage is simply not enough – they must beat the teams in the places above them. The win against Leuven was a lifeline, but it might be too little too late. They will host a Waregem side that know a win will leave some breathing space between themselves and the bottom two.

Both sides have been leaking goals this season, but the main difference is quality in front of goal. Outside of St. Gilloise, Waregem have the highest scoring pair in the league, with 24 goals between Jelle Vossen and Zinho Gano. Former St. Liege Frenchman Jean-Luc Dompe is also having a superb creative season, registering 10 league assists this campaign. The visitors will be confident going into this one.

Waregem win @ 2.90

Seraing vs Eupen

Going into the mid-week clash against Beerschot, Seraing had lost 7 consecutive league games, leaving them in a precarious situation in the league table. The goals of their once prolific striker Georges Mikautadze seem to have dried up, and the home side failed to score in 5 of those 7.

The visitors are loitering in a safe position with 10 games remaining. They seem a little too good to be dragged into a relegation battle, but not quite good enough to find a place in the top 8. They are not in the best of form either, but with little to play for, our football prediction is for Seraing to pull off an important victory.

Seraing win @ 2.45

Cercle Brugge vs Oostende

Cercle Brugge are one of the most in-form teams in the league in recent weeks. Many football predictions at the beginning of the season saw Dino Hotic as a key player for the hosts, and the Bosnian has finally started to show it. Hotic found the net from the spot in three games running and has racked up 7 assists, making it his most productive campaign in Belgium.

The visitors have had some tricky fixtures of late and have lost 4 of their last 6 games. Makhtar Gueye’s form hasn’t been the same since returning from suspension in November, and the Senegalese forward has scored just twice in 10. They are always a threat with Gueye up top, but Brugge are on a roll and are in the hunt for a Conference League play-off place.

Cercle Brugge win @ 1.64

St. Gilloise vs Anderlecht

This game has potentially huge consequences in this season’s title race. Depending on mid-week results, a home win could end Vincent Kompany’s hopes of a first league title in charge of his boyhood club. However, should results go the way of Anderlecht, a win against the league leaders could take them within striking distance of the Pro League summit.

These are two of the most in-form teams in the league, and either could pick up the win on their day. Most football predictions would side with the home team, with St. Gilloise having lost just twice in 13 home games. After picking up a 100th minute winner against Genk, the hosts seem destined to go on and lift the trophy.

St. Gilloise win @ 2.10

Gent vs Antwerp

After an impressive run of form turned Gent’s season around, they have stuttered again in recent outings, drawing 4 consecutive games. The absence of top goalscorer Tarik Tissoudali on international duty has been a huge blow, and Gent are yet to win a game since the Moroccan left for the AFCON.

Antwerp have tasted defeat just once in 8 league games, and Michael Frey has scored 3 in his last 3. The Swiss striker is tied for top goalscorer and will be eying up the Golden Boot in his first season of Belgian football. The visitors have the momentum going into this game, and a win is crucial to keep pace with those around them.

Antwerp win @

St. Liege vs KV Mechelen

St. Liege will be favourites going into this tie, but neither of these sides have found wins easy to come by in the last month. The home side haven’t won in their last 5 in all competitions, whilst the visitors have lost 3 of their last 4 league games.

It’s not too difficult to find why Liege have struggled so much this season – they have only one player with more than two goals. In contrast, KV Mechelen have four, and those have combined for 28 goals. The away side still have an outside chance of breaking into the top four, and a win in Liege would massively improve their chances of doing so.

KV Mechelen win @ 3.40

Kortrijk vs Club Brugge

Although Kortrijk haven’t won in 3 games, they have made themselves difficult to beat this season and have tasted defeat only once in their last 12 league outings. That being said, Club Brugge ran away as comfortable 2-0 winners in the reverse fixture, and the last of our football predictions for the weekend is that something similar will happen again.

A win is pivotal for the Champions to keep the pressure on those above them, and anything less could see the title slip away from their grasp. Bas Dost has been back amongst the goals, and Brugge will be hoping the experience of the Dutch striker will steer them towards the top of the table.

Club Brugge win @ 1.68
