Bundesliga 2025/26 – Matchday 1 Betting Tips

Football Predictions

The 2025-26 Bundesliga season gets underway tomorrow evening with a huge clash between champions Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig at the Allianz Arena.

As per usual, it promises to be a thrilling campaign in the German top flight, full of the energetic attacking football which has made the division a huge hit across the world in recent years.

To celebrate the Bundesliga’s return, we have taken a look at the nine fixtures taking place on Matchday 1 and cherry-picked four sports betting online tips for your football bets.

Let’s begin…

*All odds are subject to change

Luis Diaz to score anytime for Bayern Munich vs RB Leipzig @ 2.21

Tipping a Bayern player other than Harry Kane to score anytime always feels like a bit of a risk, but we really feel there is great value to be had in Diaz’s odds. The Colombia international, signed from Liverpool over the summer, netted his first goal for the Bavarians in the 2-1 German Super Cup win over Stuttgart and appears to have the left-wing spot in Vincent Kompany’s starting XI nailed down. Diaz scored 13 Premier League goals last season and he should benefit greatly from Kane’s unique playmaking ability as the team’s No9.

Bayer Leverkusen to score over 2.5 goals vs Hoffenheim @ 2.35

It has been a difficult summer for Leverkusen. Not only has successful manager Xabi Alonso left for Real Madrid and been replaced by Erik ten Hag, a number of key players also departed. Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong and Granit Xhaka all completed moves to Premier League clubs, which means this is the start of a new era for Leverkusen. That being said, there is still serious quality in the squad, and we are backing the players to deliver a statement performance against Hoffenheim, who ended last season with a five-game winless run and a 15th-place finish. Furthermore, Leverkusen were dominant in both fixtures vs Hoffenheim in 2024-25, winning 3-1 at home and 4-1 away.

Jobe Bellingham to score or assist for Borussia Dortmund vs St Pauli @ 3.10

There is a new Bellingham in the Bundesliga and his name is Jobe. The brother of Jude has followed in his sibling’s footsteps by swapping the north of England for Dortmund, and the ex-Sunderland ace will be eager to debut in style. Bellingham only scored four goals and registered three assists in the Championship last season, but he could be afforded more chances to shine in the final third with a Dortmund shirt on. Any midfielder with Serhou Guirassy and Karim Adeyemi in front of them stands a chance of racking up the assists, which is why we think the name Bellingham will be back in the Bundesliga headlines this weekend.

Hamburg to beat Borussia Monchengladbach @ 3.82

Okay, our last tip is by far the riskiest of the lot, as Hamburg are only just returning to the Bundesliga after seven seasons in the second tier. But lest we forget, Hamburg are a massive club in Germany, one with a rich history and a talented squad of players ready to emulate the success of yesteryear. Monchengladbach, another big German club, have been plagued by inconsistency in recent years, ending 2024-25 with four defeats in the final five games. Furthermore, Monchengladbach’s previous five home Bundesliga matches saw them suffer three defeats, while Hamburg won three of their last five away contests in the second tier. So there is a method to the madness here…
