Women’s Euro 2025: Matchday 1 Betting Tips

The Women’s European Championship gets underway this week, with the tournament being played in Switzerland.

Only 16 teams partake in the women’s edition of this UEFA tournament, which only increases the levels of competitiveness.

Every match matters, especially those involving two highly-fancied nations – such as holders England and France, who meet on Friday evening.

That fixture makes an appearance in our first round of online sports betting tips for Women’s Euro 2025, part of the way in which we help with your football bets online.

Let’s begin…

*All odds are subject to change

Switzerland to beat Norway @ 3.41

The Swiss will be hoping to give a great account of themselves on home soil, although they begin with a tough match against Norway. The Norwegians won both encounters in the Nations League, a 2-1 home victory followed by a 1-0 away win. However, we still fancy Switzerland to produce something of a shock to help get the tournament up and running on Wednesday evening. The Swiss beat Czechia 4-1 in their final preparatory fixture, while Norway lost 2-0 to Scandinavian rivals Sweden.

Spain vs Portugal: Over 3.5 goals in the match @ 1.73

World champions Spain should cruise to victory in their opening group stage match. With world-class players in virtually every position, the pre-tournament favourites can rack up the goals against an inferior Portuguese side. These two teams met in the Nations League, with Spain winning 4-2 away from home and then 7-1 in front of their own fans. Interestingly, the BTTS market here is valued at 2.38, so if you fancy Portugal to grab a goal in a heavy defeat, that may be a route you wish to go down.

England to beat France and both teams to score in the match @ 4.70

The headline fixture of Matchday 1 and one which is incredibly hard to call. France are on a run of eight consecutive victories across all competitions, while the Lionesses thrashed Jamaica 7-0 in their warm-up fixture. To be honest, this is a game worthy of the final itself and with high-quality attackers on each side, we would be shocked if each of them did not register a tick on the scoresheet. But in the end, we are backing England’s tournament pedigree to shine through and carry them to a crucial victory.

Stina Blackstenius to score anytime for Sweden vs Denmark @ 2.23

Arsenal forward Blackstenius is one of Sweden’s most potent weapons in the final third and scored in the 2-0 friendly win over Norway. The 29-year-old enters this Matchday 1 fixture with 116 caps for her country and 38 goals scored, a very impressive record. Blackstenius also netted Arsenal’s goal in the 1-0 Champions League Final victory over Barcelona, another reason why we are tipping her to get her tournament off to the best possible start.
