Manchester City to beat Real Madrid @ 3.47
We start off with a pretty bold shout by tipping underdogs City to beat holders Real in the Bernabeu. Pep Guardiola is also having to contend with a number of defensive injuries ahead of the crucial match. However, while things have not gone right for the Citizens of late, last weekend was a welcome reminder of their quality. An Omar Marmoush hat-trick helped seal a 4-0 victory over Newcastle and the timing of that result could be perfect ahead of a match against a Real side who have flattered to deceive at various points this season.
Borussia Dortmund to beat Sporting Lisbon @ 1.95
This tie is virtually done after Dortmund’s 3-0 win in Lisbon last week. While the away goal rule is no longer a part of Champions League football, overturning a three-goal deficit looks pretty much impossible for the Portuguese outfit. Dortmund have really struggled in the Bundesliga this season, currently sitting 11th after losing 2-0 at Bochum on the weekend. But in Europe, BVB have performed far better and we are backing them to put on another show for their fans stationed in the famous Yellow Wall.
PSV Eindhoven vs Juventus: Draw @ 3.57
A tie hanging in the balance after Juventus’ 2-1 win at home, the second leg in Eindhoven should be an absolute cracker! After beating Liverpool 3-2 in the final matchday of the League Phase, PSV have won only one of the last five across all competitions. Juve are fresh from a 1-0 success over Inter Milan and will fancy their chances of making it back-to-back Champions League wins. However, Thiago Motta’s side have been draw specialists this season, with 13 of their 25 Serie A matches ending all square. But a draw here would take them through to the last 16, so it would be something to celebrate!
Bayern Munich vs Celtic: Both teams to score – No @ 1.84
Bayern already have one foot in the last 16 after winning 2-1 in Glasgow. Vincent Kompany’s side are formidable at home too, so will feel confident of completing the job with relative ease. Celtic have to come out with intent in Bavaria, but we can still see Bayern’s defence holding firm and the attacking stars doing the rest of the work. Bayern have conceded only nine goals at home in the Bundesliga this season, a quite phenomenal record which makes Celtic’s task even more difficult!
