The race for the Play-Offs is on and there will be many changes before the regular season reaches its conclusion. One game that could have an effect on this is Anderlecht’s trip to Gent.
Separated by just six points, the gap could be narrowed to three this matchday if Gent manage to upset 4th-placed Anderlecht, with fatigue possibly taking effect following their European exploits. However, we still think Anderlecht have what it takes to claim a third consecutive Pro League win.
Kortrijk to beat Westerlo @ 3.08
The big games don’t stop coming as we head to the other end of the table for a relegation six-pointer. Kortrijk and Westerlo are only four points apart, a total that could be shaved to just a point should the former come out on top.
This is the outcome we’re predicting after the hosts claimed the inspired draw at Club Brugge last weekend, truly showing they have the fight in them to survive relegation from the Pro League. Visitors Westerlo are also on a run of four consecutive defeats and in such form, the dreaded drop looks a distinct possibility.
Cercle Brugge and Standard Liege to draw @ 3.47
There is less obvious pressure on this fixture – but it still should be hugely entertaining! Standard are currently in 6th and trying to hold on to a Play-Off place. Winning their last three games, they’ll feel confident of maintaining their position.
But Cercle Brugge have impressed of late, bursting out of the relegation spots with a staggering seven-game unbeaten run. They are flying in the league at present and confidence must be coursing through the players’ veins, hence why we are backing them to pick up another crucial point at home.
