Arsenal vs Aston Villa: Draw @ 4.50
Yet another huge game in the Premier League, with both of these teams fighting it out near the top of the table. Hosts Arsenal sit in 2nd, four points behind leaders Liverpool after their crucial 2-1 win over Tottenham.
Villa are back in 7th following a 1-0 midweek win at Everton, which brought an end to their worrying away form. The Gunners would be the obvious favourites, but still with injuries to key players and the undeniable Unai Emery factor, we think the points will be shared at the Emirates.
Real Sociedad to beat Valencia @ 2.46
Flying high after their massive win last weekend against European rivals Villarreal, Sociedad should be very confident travelling to a game against bottom-of-the-table Valencia. So much has gone wrong for Los Che this season and they are at serious risk of the drop. Unless they manage to mastermind a drastic turnaround, and fast!
Valencia have a strong squad and stand the chance of being able to reverse their fortunes. But this might have to wait until next week, as we think Sociedad will just have too much for the struggling hosts.
Eintracht Frankfurt vs Borussia Dortmund: Both Teams to Score @ 1.43
At 3rd (Frankfurt) and 9th (Dortmund) in the Bundesliga, these two sides have plenty to play for. Dortmund will be reeling from their shock 4-2 midweek defeat to Holsten Kiel and come up against an Eintracht side fresh from Tuesday’s 4-1 victory over Freiburg.
The form book points to another home win for Frankfurt, although you can never rule out an entertaining Dortmund side. As such, we are playing it safe(ish) here and siding with the BTTS market. These sides have kept a total of one clean sheet in their last six matches across all competitions combined…
Atalanta to beat Napoli @ 2.22
Two giants of Italian football will battle it out this weekend, with the Serie A title race really heating up. Antonio Conte’s Napoli – who look set to lose key man Khvicha Kvaratskhelia to PSG – are back at the top of the table after recording five consecutive top-flight wins.
However, a trip to face Atalanta, who have blown plenty of teams away this term, is the toughest of assignments. And even with additional days of rest following Atalanta’s 1-1 home draw with Juventus on Tuesday, the Neapolitans run the risk of slipping up and allowing the hosts to gain precious ground on them. And we believe that is what will happen!
Lille to beat Nice @ 1.88
Nice and Lille are not only separated by just one place in the table, but one point as well. So a massively important encounter is set and both teams cannot afford to lose. Nice are within touching distance of a dream Champions League place and will want to take out their opponent’s chances.
But Lille have serious European pedigree and quality within the squad, as well as similar lofty aspirations to spur them on. So we think that they will come out on top in a fascinating Friday night clash at the Pierre Mauroy Stadium.
