Formula 1: Las Vegas Grand Prix Preview, Odds & Betting Tips

Super Bowl LVIII: San Francisco 49ers v Kansas City Chiefs Preview

Formula 1 returns to the streets of Las Vegas this weekend when all eyes will be on title-chasing duo Max Verstappen and Lando Norris.

Going into the first of three final races, Red Bull star Verstappen leads the standings by 62 points.

His red-hot rivalry with Norris has lit up the F1 calendar this year, with the latter reaching boiling point in Mexico.

Norris, 25, was left fuming as Verstappen had two 10-second time penalties slapped on him before Carlos Sainz claimed the chequered flag at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez in October.

He took to his radio to tell his team “this guy is dangerous” and the McLaren star’s mood did not improve in Brazil earlier this month when Verstappen returned to the top of the podium while he finished down in sixth.

With the stakes higher than ever, Norris will be desperate to pick up a win in Sin City.

Should Verstappen, 27, finish Sunday’s race ahead of his sparring partner, he will be guaranteed a fourth world title.

To put it simply, Verstappen will take the title in Vegas if he finishes the race ahead of Norris in any position.

Should they both fail to score, the Red Bull driver would also end the weekend as a four-time champion.

Norris, therefore, cannot afford to finish behind Verstappen under any circumstances — and that could result in the action bubbling over once again.

To stay in contention for at least another week, the British driver must ensure he ends the race with a reduced deficit of 59 points or less.

In a season dominated by Verstappen, who has notched eight wins, Norris deserves full credit for keeping the battle alive for as long as he has.

He has won three races but any lingering hopes of glory will bite the dust unless he can do the business on the Vegas street circuit.

As you would expect, Verstappen will be in no mood to let his sparring partner get one over on him when it matters most.

Qualifying could prove to be crucial in Vegas. Norris is 3.25 to start the race from pole position, while Verstappen is priced at 3.50.

With Charles Leclerc also at 3.25 and Sainz coming in at a generous 7.00, there could be plenty of twists and turns to come before the main event.

Las Vegas Grand Prix Betting Tips

Verstappen is a tasty 5.50 to win qualification and the race itself. Norris is 6.00 in the same market and his fans are likely to back him to the hilt.

Considering he holds a 62-point advantage, it is no surprise to see Verstappen priced at 1.02 to claim the drivers’ championship. But if you still have faith in Norris upsetting the apple cart, 17.00 is likely to prove very tempting.
