Jupiler Pro League: Championship Play-off Preview

A London derby kicks off Matchday 8 in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon as Tottenham roll out the welcome mat for West Ham.

The lunchtime clash brings together two sides desperate for points after indifferent starts to the season.

Spurs had seemingly turned the corner with back-to-back league wins over Brentford and Manchester United before things went horribly wrong once again at Brighton.

West Ham went into the international break on a more positive note courtesy of a 4-1 win over Ipswich but find themselves two points worse off than their hosts.

Ahead of the showdown in North London, Bet777 have pulled together a must-read preview brimming with info for you to consider before placing a football bet.

And do not forget that you have a wide range of Premier League betting markets at your fingertips as we head into an action-packed weekend.

With 10 points on the board from seven games, Ange Postecoglou will not be pressing the panic button just yet.

But he was stunned by Tottenham’s second-half collapse at Brighton, which saw them blow a two-goal lead to lose 3-2.

The deflated Spurs boss, 59, said: “It was disappointing and I’m absolutely gutted with that.

“It’s an unacceptable second half — we were nowhere near where we should be. Maybe we got carried away with how we were going.

“It’s a terrible loss for us, as bad as it gets, and there’s only one way to fix it — and that’s my responsibility.”

With the pressure building, Postecoglou will need to lift his troops for what is expected to be a tough battle against the Hammers.

Like their opponents, West Ham have lost three league games this season.

But they battered Ipswich before the international break to get back on track after a run of just two points from four outings — much to the delight of manager Julen Lopetegui.

The delighted Spaniard, 58, said: “The players are working very hard. I think that against a good team we did very, very well.”

Despite their inconsistent form, Tottenham are favourites to win at 1.50. There is value in a draw at 4.80 while an away win comes in at a tempting 5.70.

It would be no surprise to see West Ham leave North London with three points but the Spurs faithful will be determined to roar their side to a much-needed victory.

Tottenham vs West Ham Betting Tips

Brennan Johnson will hope to keep his impressive spell going against the Hammers and the in-form Spurs man is 7.50 in the first goalscorer market.

Although Johnson has bagged three league goals so far, team-mate Heung-Min Son is favourite to break the deadlock at 5.00. If you fancy a West Ham player to find the net first, look no further than Jarrod Bowen at 11.00.
