Minnesota Timberwolves Vs Dallas Mavericks Game 5
Friday 31st May 1:30am
Target Center, Minneapolis, MN, USA
Live on TNT Sport
Home side, the Timberwolves are reeling from a poor start to the series. Three losses in a row has put them in a nightmare position with lots of work to do if they want to put themselves back into the frame to win the series. But a good start on Tuesday was forcing a game five to give themselves another opportunity to recover the deficit in the series. But with a 3-1 advantage in the four games the two sides played in the regular season, the Wolves will be feeling confident of pegging the Mavs back. And winning three on the road in Denver is no easy feat as the notorious altitude factor makes it an extremely tough place for visitors. It’s not just Edward who has impressed in the series for the T Wolves, Naz Reid has been averaging high numbers in both points and rebounds, supported by guard Conley who’s points and assists are also impressive. Although Conley’s availability is questionable through injury.
The Mavericks will be hoping to return to winning ways and close out the series, shutting the door on any potential Minnesota comeback. Starting strong with Kyrie Irving and Dončić both firing they couldn’t believe their luck as they turned the tables on odds and opinions. Irving has really stepped up throughout the series, showing himself to be a leader as well as a prolific scorer. The eight time NBA all-star is averaging 24 points in this series and even got up to 33 in game 3. PJ Washington is another who’s stepped up to the plate to give the Mavs such a strong start. The 25 year-old has been in fine scoring form as well as logging impressive rebound numbers. The back court of the Mav’s also matches up extremely favourably with the Wolves and will be something they’ll hope to exploit. The only worry Dallas will have will be regarding the fitness of starman Luka Dončić, who could potentially miss out on the tie after sustaining a knee injury.
