Club Brugge vs Union Saint-Gilloise
Defeat against Genk last time out left champions Club Brugge 11 points adrift of the top, with their hopes of retaining the title drifting out of touch. They’ll be hoping to close that gap this weekend when they take on Union Saint-Gilloise.
Despite suffering defeat last weekend, Brugge have excelled on home soil this Jupiler Pro League 2023 campaign. The hosts have won four consecutive games at Jan Breydel Stadion, keeping a clean sheet in each outing.
A tricky run of fixtures has seen St. Gilloise win just three of their previous 10 away matches. A 2-0 defeat at the hands of Antwerp in round one put a dent in their title dreams, but a win against Brugge would put them firmly back on track. Unfortunately, they have not fared well in this fixture, failing to beat the champions in six attempts since their return to the top flight.

Standard Liege vs Gent
This game could well decide which team qualifies for the Conference League playoffs next season. Gent currently lead the group with a two-point advantage over Liege and victory would see them move five points clear. They put an end to their winless run with an impressive 3-1 victory over Westerlo last weekend, and they will be favourites to claim another three points on the road.
Liege are rarely beaten on home soil – a 2-0 win against Genk just a month ago is proof of that. Both meetings between these sides have ended all-square this season, and although Gent probably have the superior squad, Standard know how to grind out results

Antwerp vs Genk
It’s perhaps the most important game of the Jupiler Pro League 2023 season thus far! A victory would maintain Genk’s top spot, while an Antwerp win would finally end Genk’s run at the summit. There is a lot on the line, and although the leaders have been a tad inconsistent, their 3-1 win over Club Brugge showed that they have their eyes firmly on the prize.
However, Antwerp’s form is peaking at the perfect time. They have won six consecutive games, keeping five clean sheets, as well as having beaten Genk in two of their three meetings this season. We can’t split them and there’s every chance the spoils are shared at the top of the table.
