Jupiler Pro League 2023 leaders Genk might have lost the division’s top goalscorer to the Premier League, but they still managed to put three past Gent in a five-goal thriller at the Ghelamco. They continue their pursuit of a first league title since 2019 at home against third-place Antwerp this weekend.
We’ve previewed the Jupiler Pro League 2023 matchday 25 fixtures and picked out a treble with football odds of 11.75. To browse the sports betting markets or place an online bet of your own, head to Bet777.be – the home of the ultimate live betting experience.
Westerlo vs Gent
We’re kicking things off at Het Kuipje where Westerlo meet Gent in what could prove a crucial top four clash. The hosts remain in the post-season places by just one point and prepare for this week’s match having won just once in their last five. But although are not in the best form, only Genk have scored more goals (28 in 12) at home than Westerlo, who can go toe-to-toe with any opposition on their day.
Gent have typically adopted a more defensive approach, but have conceded three goals in back-to-back games ahead of their meeting with Westerlo. With Hugo Cuypers in the form of his career, Gent will fancy their chances of outscoring Westerlo, but we’re backing a draw.
Draw – 3.31
Genk vs Antwerp
As recently as a couple of months ago this would have been a crucial match-up in the title race, but just five wins in 15 Jupiler Pro League 2023 matches has left has left Antwerp 15 points adrift of Genk ahead of the game. They face a tough task on the road against a Genk side which remain unbeaten on home soil this campaign.
With 11 wins and a draw, the hosts have been virtually unstoppable at the Cegeka Arena and will be strong favourites to continue that run on Sunday. They may be without Paul Onuachu, but they have more than enough firepower across their frontline to dispatch of an out of form Antwerp and take another step towards claiming a fifth first division title.
Genk to win – 1.94
Anderlecht vs St. Truiden
We had a feeling it would probably be a matter of time before Anderlecht started a late charge towards the top eight. One defeat in their last five has seen them close the gap to four points on eighth place St. Truiden, with victory this weekend taking them within touching distance of a post-season spot.
St. Truiden are also in decent form and have impressed on the road this season, but they will do well to claim the points from an Anderlecht side that are starting to shift through the gears. It is a pivotal match in Anderlecht’s season, and they will be favourites to come out on top in front of a home crowd.
Anderlecht to win – 1.83
