Union Berlin vs Hoffenheim
We’re kicking off our football predictions in Germany where fifth place Union Berlin continue their pursuit of Champions League football against Hoffenheim. Only two teams have picked up more points on home soil than Union, who prepare for a Hoffenheim side that have won just eight points form seven games on the road.
The visitors were in the joint worst form prior to the World Cup – one point in five games – and although they have had a long time to refocus their efforts, a trip to Berlin is a daunting first game back.

Crystal Palace vs Newcastle
Whilst Crystal Palace have struggled for form since the return of domestic football, Newcastle have continued to solidify their spot in the top four. Eddie Howe’s side are yet to lose a league game since a 2-1 defeat at Anfield in August, and we’re backing the Magpies to claim all three points in our football predictions.
No team has conceded fewer goals away from home than Newcastle and only Arsenal and Manchester City have picked up more points on the road. They will be strong favourites to get the job done at Selhurst Park.
Newcastle to win – 1.82
AC Spezia vs Roma
Roma have looked good since the turn of the year, winning three of their four games in all competitions, drawing the other away at champions AC Milan. They have typically performed better away from home this season, winning 18 points from nine away games, the third best record in the league.
Roma beat Spezia twice last campaign, keeping a clean sheet in both matches. The hosts are a solid outfit, but should come up short against Roma in our football predictions.
Roma to win – 1.77
Athletic Bilbao vs Real Madrid
You very rarely find Real Madrid with such high odds. Yes they are facing a tricky trip to Bilbao, but this is still Real Madrid. They have the joint best away record in La Liga this season and have won four of their last five meetings against Bilbao.
The hosts have been particularly impressive at Estadio San Mames this season, but they have still only beaten Los Blanco twice in the last decade at home. It will likely be a tight affair, but we’re backing Madrid in our football predictions.
