We are approaching the end of the European World Cup qualifying campaign.
England are the only nation to have already secured top spot in their group – and therefore a place at next summer’s tournament in North America.
But a few more countries may follow in the coming days, and ahead of more exciting international football action across the continent, we have picked out some more sports betting online tips based on the latest bet on football odds.
Let’s begin…
*All odds are subject to change
Norway vs Estonia: First goalscorer – Erling Haaland @ 2.40
In case you were unaware, Haaland has been an absolute machine in this World Cup qualifying campaign. In his six previous appearances for Norway, the Manchester City striker netted 12 goals, meaning he has scored at least five more than any other player. It is a level of efficiency which almost beggars belief and after opening the scoring for City in last Sunday’s 3-0 win over Liverpool, he will be hungry for more when Estonia visit. The Estonians have lost five of seven matches thus far and conceded 17 goals, and we just cannot see how they can stop an in-form Haaland. So backing him to score first feels a wise move.
France vs Ukraine: Both teams to score – Yes @ 2.39
We fancy France to beat Ukraine by a fairly healthy margin here, given their superior quality. However, we do also believe the visitors will grab at least one goal vs Didier Deschamps’ men. France’s two matches against Iceland saw them display some defensive ineptitude, conceding once on home soil and twice on their travels. With such great odds on offer, the BTTS market here could be a real source of value for your midweek wager.
Poland vs Netherlands: Anytime goalscorer – Robert Lewandowski @ 2.40
Lewandowski was back with a bang in Barcelona colours on the weekend. The Polish striker netted a hat-trick for the Catalonian side in a crucial 4-2 win at Celta Vigo. And Poland really need their record scorer at the peak of his powers to try and secure a spot at the World Cup. The Poles trail Netherlands by three points in Group G ahead of kick-off here, making this arguably the biggest game of Matchday 9. And when his team requires him to deliver the most, Lewandowski usually rises to the fore. He has also scored in three of his previous five international appearances, including the last two (vs Lithuania and Finland).
Switzerland to beat Sweden @ 1.50
The Swiss can take a giant step towards World Cup qualification when struggling Sweden come to visit. Now managed by Graham Potter, the Scandinavians are almost completely out of contention, with a play-off spot virtually impossible to achieve, given they trail second-placed Kosovo by six points with only two games remaining. Furthermore, Potter is without Arsenal striker Viktor Gyokeres due to injury, while Liverpool’s Alexander Isak is lacking match fitness. So the Swedes cannot rely on their two big guns, and the Swiss are yet to lose in this qualifying campaign. Backing the hosts here feels like a wise betting move.
