2026 World Cup Qualifiers – Matchday 5 Betting Tips

Jupiler Pro League: Championship Play-off Preview

Top-flight domestic football action is taking a back seat for two weeks as we enter the first international break of the 2025-26 season.

And we have some fantastic matches to look forward to as nations in Europe bid to secure qualification for next summer’s World Cup in the United States of America, Canada and Mexico.

Below are some online sports betting tips focused on the latest round of qualifiers, featuring the latest odds for your football bets online.

Spain to score over 2.5 goals vs Bulgaria @ 1.71

This match should be a walk in the park for the reigning European champions. Spain are arguably the best international side in the world right now, spearheaded by teenage sensation Lamine Yamal – who has started the 2025-26 season brilliantly with Barcelona. La Roja have scored over 2.5 goals in three of their last five competitive matches, and that was against far stronger opposition in Switzerland, the Netherlands and France. Bulgaria are on a five-match winless run, and lost 4-0 to Greece in their previous contest.

Denmark to beat Scotland @ 1.54

Denmark are usually a strong team at home, evidenced by the fact they have won the last three matches in front of their own fans – including a 1-0 victory over Portugal back in March. Scotland have the quality to make this a very close game, but in the end, Denmark’s additional class should see them over the line. Interestingly, Scotland won their last three away matches and thrashed Liechtenstein 4-0 back in June. But before that, the Tartan Army lost back-to-back home games against Greece and Iceland, which is part of the reason why we are picking the Danes here.

Sweden to beat Slovenia @ 2.18

Sweden quietly have one of the best forward lines in the world. Premier League stars Alexander Isak, Viktor Gyokeres and Anthony Elanga are capable of destroying any defence, so we think the Swedes will enjoy their trip to Slovenia. Of course, Slovenia are unbeaten in their previous five matches, but did suffer a 4-1 home loss to Norway back in November. Can Sweden emulate the success of their Scandinavian neighbours? Do not rule it out, although we are playing it safer and opting for the ‘Match Result’ market only, rather than look at other selections featuring a high number of goals.

Ukraine vs France: Both teams to score – Yes @ 2.04

We expect France to beat Ukraine with a relative degree of comfort. Kylian Mbappe and the rest of Les Bleus’ talented squad can thrash any opposition on their day, but Didier Deschamps’ side can be a little bit susceptible at the back sometimes. With Arsenal star William Saliba unlikely to feature for France after picking up an ankle injury, Ukraine can perhaps look to flex their attacking muscles a little more. And with talented players like Artem Dovbyk in forward areas, the BTTS market in this match looks rather appealing.
